Sew Seasonal Linky Party!

Sew Seasonal Blog Hop

It's November 30, and that means it's time to link up your finished Sew Seasonal products!! It's also the last day that the patterns are on sale - the Ornamental rotary cut blocks and the Christmas paper pieced blocks.

A quick reminder of what's up for grabs...

Awesome Launch Day giveaways - check back November 1st!
2 x $10 vouchers
Joy by Kate Spain - full fat quarter bundle + panel
2 x $25 vouchers
1 x $25 voucher
$30 gift voucher
Japanese Christmas fabric - fat eighth bundle
Cherry Christmas charm pack

Oh, and that amazing Joy fat quarter bundle and panel from Intrepid Thread? Kate Spain herself will be selecting the lucky winner of that as the Grand Prize!! Plus, add your photos to the Sew Seasonal Flickr group for another chance to win prizes - one paper pieced project and one Ornamental project will be randomly picked to win a Fat Quarter Shop voucher.

I've been my typical procrastinating self and finished my BIG Sew Seasonal project just this week. But I was determined to finish it in time for today! That and being an Advent calendar, it needs to be finished ready to start using it tomorrow. It may have taken until after 10pm last night, but I made it!

I've used all the Ornamental blocks plus the 13 paper pieced blocks for a 25-day Advent calendar. Inside will be a daily activity to do, maybe a treat, and the next piece for our Advent Nativity scene - add a piece a day to create the Nativity scene. I purposely didn't number the pockets so that I can mix it up each year (except Christmas Day will always be the manger for obvious reasons!) and make it into learning moment each morning as the kids look for the next number. I'll use clips to attach cards with large numbers on i tto the pocket. Once they're old enough to not need big numbers to help identify, then I can add some embroidered numbers!

It's now hanging up over the door to the playroom - it's a double sliding door, so it's not blocking access - and it's high enough to avoid curious little hands. As evidenced below...

If you want to find out more info about it all, I've written another post to share all the gory details of how to make a quilted Advent calendar like this one. Sorta. I totally made it up as I went, so the instructions are pretty rough too! And go check out Kristy's Merry Christmas wall hanging using all 25 blocks too - and remind us to not attempt something so full on in such a busy time of the year...

Your turn to show off your projects! Blog about your projects, link up and check out everyone else's! Kristy and I both have the same linky on our blogs, so you only need to link up through one of us to be entered. Any duplicate entries will be deleted to keep it all organised. You have until the end of December 7th to get your entries in, and then there'll be a week or so to allow Kate Spain to choose the grand winner.

Here's the button if you need it!
